The Bluewater Association for Lifelong Learning (a.k.a. BALL) is a group of enthusiastic members who maintain an interest in lifelong learning. BALL is a self-funded, not-for-profit association managed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
At BALL we strive to offer lectures that provide cultural and creative experiences in historical, scientific and contemporary subjects which are relevant and meaningful to adults. Through our strong base of volunteers we are committed to organizing programs on a variety of timely and interesting topics for BALL Lecture Series and Special Lectures. BALL’s Program Planning Committee plans programs based on suggestions from BALL members and take advantage of unique opportunities for presentations on behalf of members. These committees welcome new ideas.
While program topics are approved for presentation by the Board of Directors, the actual content of any lecture and opinions offered by a lecturer are his or her own and do not necessarily reflect the views of BALL.
BALL offers fall, winter and spring courses each year, often six weeks in length and taught by knowledgable professionals. Lectures are held in the Bay Room of the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound on Thursday mornings from 10:00 a.m. – noon. As a non-profit association, BALL keeps fees as low as possible to make courses accessible.
