The Magic Hand of Bach

Sweetwater Music Festival Artistic Director Mark Fewer showcases the genius and intimacy of J.S. Bach through an analysis of his original musical manuscripts.  This lecture will focus on the D Minor Partita for solo violin, which includes the famous Chaconne.  Using a PowerPoint presentation, Mr. Fewer will highlight areas in the musical score that may have been mis-interpreted over time, as well as information in the handwriting of Bach that never made the transition to "editions".  A full performance of the D Minor Partita will conclude the lecture.
