In this lecture, we delve into movies of varied qualities which absorbed the divisive issues of that period. The Nixon era – reactionary and repressive as it was – produced some of the most provocative, controversial and enduring American films.

About the lecturer 

Kevin Courrier

Kevin Courrier ​is a writer/broadcaster, film critic and lecturer.  He began his radio career in the eighties as co-host of the interview program

On the Arts for CJRT-FM.  He moved to CBC Radio, as a producer and film critic, and now co-produces and hosts music documentaries

for CBC Radio 2. He has published five books, launched a popular online journal (Critics at Large) and teaches film courses to seniors

at Ryerson University.
